The School Vision
Here at Bushfield Road Infants we believe that physical education, experienced in a safe and supportive environment, is a unique and vital contributor to pupil’s physical literacy and well-being. A broad and balance Physical Education Curriculum is intended to provide for pupils’ increasing self confidence in their ability to manage themselves and their bodies within a variety of movement situations. We promote teamwork, imagination and personal health and fitness in a fun and encouraging environment, enabling all children of all abilities to develop and achieve whilst being given a chance to shine.
Primary School PE and Sport Funding
The government is providing additional funding to help improve the provision of physical education and sport in schools. At Bushfield Infant School, the funding is being used to purchase new PE resources and equipment, to pay for professional development opportunities for teachers in PE and sport and to purchase quality assured professional development materials such as schemes of work and assessment record keeping systems.
We also pool some additional funding with that of other schools to purchase Sports Partnership support. This provides a range of opportunities such as training courses, pupil workshops and also opportunities to compete in inter-school sports competitions.
